Following a recent trade mission in conjunction with the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and the IPTU (India Pakistan Trade Unit) to Karachi, Chambers & Cook are pleased to announce the appointment of DMK Logistics as their service partner in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

ABOUT DMK LOGISTICS

DMK Logistics’ started trading in the late 1970s as a small-scale family business specialising in customs clearance at Lahore dry port. The company was formally setup in 1996 as a professional freight forwarding organization and it has evolved extensively since then. AFGHAN TRANSIT TRADE

DMK has been developing its Afghan Transit Business since 2001. The conducted the first of several road surveys immediately after the war ended to analyze the most efficient routes to several destinations in Afghanistan. After almost 9 years in this business, today DMK can effectively handle both commercial & non-commercial shipments, including food supplies, construction materials, heavy construction machineries and heavy vehicles – from Karachi they connect to the following destinations in Afghanistan:

COLD CHAIN – REEFERS

DMK has developed special expertise in the handling and transportation of Refrigerated (Reefer) containers. Regular volumes of Reefer containers are delivered across the land-bridge into warehouse situated in Kabul and Kandahar, via a sophisticated system incorporating the use of staging stations en route. Overnight static plug-in capability and complete disaster management protocols are present at each station to ensure temperature requirements are strictly adhered to en route, whilst at the overflow depots in Kabul and Kandahar reefers can be plugged in until receiving parties are ready for delivery; Overflow terminals have the capacity for 25 gen-sets at any one time. There are also spare reefer containers available in case of complete irreparable breakdown.

AIRFREIGHT AND DOMESTIC DISTRIBUTION

DMK has the resources to receive and customs clear airfreight consignments in Kabul, Kandahar, Bagram airbase and Camp Bastion, for onward delivery to anywhere in Afghanistan, utilising their own domestic distribution network.
